The Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) has seized cash amounting to about RM800,000 found in the store of the house of a policeman with the rank of corporal in Malacca.
The 52-year-old man is the 10th person detained to facilitate investigation into a corruption case involving money collection activities from illegal gambling joint operators and massage parlours in several locations in Malacca.
The policeman, who is attached to the Malacca police headquarters, was arrested at the police quarters about 2.15pm yesterday.
MACC (Operations) deputy commissioner Datuk Azam Baki, when contacted, confirmed the confiscation and arrest.
